| 12-07-2008 | Medway Independent Festival We've picked out a couple of events from the Urbanfox - 'Medway Independent Festival' held over July/August around Medway. Contact them for more details: info@urbanfoxpress.com Wednesday 23rd July 8pm to 11pm - The Command House, Chatham Medwaypowerhouse.com presents A Medway Retrospective, Volume 1. Musicians including Brigadier Ambrose, Stuart Turner, The Bresslaws and Glenn Barnes perform the best songs from the local music scene from the past 25 years, including a forgotten classic or two. £2 entry. Friday 25th July 8pm to 11pm - The Command House, Chatham Book Singeing A Medway artist was given a notebook, a subject to respond to and 24 hours in which to do it. They did this and passed the book on to another artist. This artist didn’t know what the original subject was, only what the first artist had created and they responded to this. The book was subsequently passed onto many artists of note in Medway and turned into a book. The images from the book will be projected tonight, there will also be an open mike session for poets and musicians, and you can buy this limited edition, experimental, imaginative book for the first and only time. All books left unsold at the end of the evening will be burnt. £2 Entry (free for contributors). |
