Artists, photographers, dancers, painters, poets, musicians, actors and creatives were asked to lend their creativity to dreams and visualisations of what a future or mythical Maidstone Artists’ Quarter might look like and what might happen there. Margherita filmed and interviewed Maidstone creatives pitching their imaginative fantasies as part of the project. The 10-minute showreel featured on her website offers a small taster of the talent and ideas that the film has generated. The film ultimately projects a message of more opportunities for people to create, perform and showcase their work in the town.

My daughter was conceived, born and raised in Medway; the band on her wrist is the one that was fastened by the nurses at All Saints’ Hospital. She is the reason I began filmmaking and has been a unique motivation for my work ever since. Her youth, confidence and fragility offer a parallel with the growth and regeneration of Medway.
