Ceramic Tooth Fairy
The ceramic Tooth Fairy Series consists of jewellery made from original castings of my daughter’s baby teeth. These teeth were 3D scanned and rapid prototyped to 400% and 800% bigger. From these working models I have recreated the exact same baby tooth and increased its scale to create provocative and appealing pieces. The teeth have been cast in porcelain, and glazed with a glossy off- white glaze to maintain their “toothiness”. One necklace has been strung on spun hair, also from my daughter, in the same technique that strings of pearls are strung, keeping a sense of tradition within the necklace.
