Terry Perk - Make

Lecture Series 2008
This year’s MAKE Lecture Series kicks off with a touchstone event at the University for the Creative Arts at Rochester on Thursday 18th September at 5pm. Guest speakers Derek Flippance (Royal Engineers Museum) and Richard Holdsworth (Chatham Historic Dockyard) will be speaking respectively about the use and role of analogue models in their museums’ collections and their current plans to expand the display of artifacts on both sites in Chatham.
All lectures will start at 5pm in the Peter Williams Lecture Theatre, UCCA Rochester, with a tea & coffee reception from 4:30pm in the college’s main foyer before each event.
Sweep
Sweep
Playing with notions of ‘practice’ that are often assigned to both the use of maps and the production of art, Sweep is an abstracted image of an abstract frame of reference. The forms and relationships between the lines in the work are generated from a map of the road-sweeping routes set out for the Medway towns.
